Cusano M1 - First Impressions
August 23, 2006
From multiple cigar sites:
Before becoming known for some of the best premiums in the world, Cusano cigars started their value driven business in bundles with their Celebrity series which encompasses several lines of bundled cigars that were made with one goal in mind, to compete directly with name brand cigars twice their price. Rolled at the famous Tabadom Factory in the Dominican Republic, the bundled Cusano Celebrity series has used exacting standards to match the blends of some of the most famous cigars in the world including Punch, Partagas, Macanudo, and Montecristo to name a few. This cigar uses an Connecticut shade wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican filler.
The M1 by Cusano directly challenges the blend of the famous Macanudo, acclaimed to the best selling cigar in the United States. Since its debut it has become an everyday cigar for smokers everywhere that want to combine great prices with great cigars. This mild Connecticut wrapper cigar that captures the mild and smooth essence that cigars from this region have become known for. In addition to Macanudo, this cigar is a great alternative to other Dominican favorites such as La Aurora, Fuente, and Ashton. The cigars come packaged in bundles of 20 and are available in 5 sizes.
Personally I enjoyed this little cigar. It had a slightly sweet taste to start and produced plenty of smoke. My wife told me it smelled nice, which is always a plus since no one likes a stinky cigar. I got a bundle of the Cafe Robusto, these are a small cigar which I finished in 20 minutes. The taste got leathery and slightly bitter towards the end of the smoke. Probably because they were a little dry (I just finished unpacking them from being in the big brown truck all day). Hopefully these guys get better as they age in the humidor. These could easily become a daily smoker.
More to come in a few weeks.
