- FACT: Rats are incredibly intelligent and personable, they will learn there name and can be trained to perform tricks
- FACT: Ganesha, the Hindu god of prosperity, new beginnings and luck rides around on a rat
- FACT: Rat packs can go up to sixty strong
- FACT: A group/pack/herd of rats is called a Mischief
- UNCONFIRMED: Because of their large numbers they can kill larger animals, like lambs, pigs, and poultry
- FACT: Rats laugh when you play with them (video)
- FACT: Rat tails can are used for temperature regulation and communication as well as balance
- FACT: A rats average life span is 2 – 5 years
- FACTOID: A rat could hypothetically survive a fall off of a five story building.
I couldn’t actually find any confirmation about rats being able to take down larger animals as a pack. But, rats (even pets) will still go after smaller animals like fish, birds, and other rodents. If anyone knows of rats taking out large groups of animals let us know in the comments.
