Sunday Comics – Craig FergusonPosted by Leslie in Sunday Comics, tags: comedian, Craig, Craig Ferguson, Ferguson, Scotsman, Scottish
Today’s Comedian is one of the newest citizens of the United States of America, Craig Ferguson.
Craig was born on May 17, 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland. He was a drummer in a little known band called "The Bastards from Hell" and later renamed "Dreamboys." They performed in Glasgow from 1980-1982. Mr. Ferguson came to Los Angeles in 1994 and snagged his first role as a baker named Logan McDonough on the short-lived 1995 ABC comedy show "Maybe This Time". He starred alongside Betty White, and Marie Osmond.
I absolutely love things that make me laugh. It really doesn’t matter what the situation is. I thought I would do a weekly “Sunday Comics” with a twist. I am going to profile one Comedian each Sunday. I will include quotes from that weeks comedian. The first comedian I am profiling is Demetri Martin. I enjoy his comedy because he is so intelligent. He turns everything into puzzles, palindromes and every other intelligent thing you could possible think of. He started Law School at NYU, but dropped out because he was so bored with it. Instead, he started doing stand up comedy at a club across from NYU’s campus. His career exploded…like when the American’s Dropped the Bomb on Hiroshima. Here is why he is so absolutely hilarious…His Jokes…His Quotes…His Stand-up Comedy Specials. Read the rest of this entry » There is going to be a total lunar eclipse on February 20-21, 2008. Here is the time line of this event.
I am posting a picture I found that shows all stages of the lunar eclipse. Happy Eclipse Watching! On October 14, 1947, Brigadier General Charles “Chuck” Yeager became the first human to ever break the sound barrier. The aircraft that General Yeager flew was the Bell-X1 which he named after his wife. His X-1 was called “Glamorous Glennis.” Sound is described as vibration that travels through an elastic medium as a wave Speed of Sound – describes how much distance such a wave travels in a given amount of time. This can only be done in dry air with a temperature of 21 C or 70 F The actual speed of sound is: 344m/s OR 1230km/h OR 770mph OR 1130ft/s I found some amazing pictures of different aircraft actually breaking the sound barrier. ENJOY!!

NASA: The Programs and the Men who Flew ThemPosted by Leslie in NASA, tags: astronaut, mercury, NASA, SpaceI can remember the first time I became completely enamoured with space, astronomy, and NASA. I was only 5 years old when I got my first glimpse of Hallie’s Comet. I can remember watching streak across the sky. Since then I never missed a meteor shower, lunar eclipse or solar eclipse. I have one major dream for myself. I want to see the curviature of our home planet Earth. In the past few years I have been researching NASA. I found that I have more of a love for space than I initially thought. What I found that I loved was learning about the initial space programs…Projects Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. |
